Sunbird in Orleans is known for its ultra-creative breakfast and lunch menu and many vegan dining options. Plant-based diners come for the chilled grain and bean bowls, fresh beet and tomato salad, and seasonal vegan jam bars.
Fare and Just Kitchen
A new edition to the vegan restaurants on Cape Cod, Fare and Just Kitchen, recently opened in Brewster. Their menu is 100% plant-based, gluten-free, and peanut-free. The restaurant is take-out only and includes a large selection of smoothies, grain, and veggie bowls served up with lentil “meatballs,” falafel, or veggie burger.
Red Nun
There is a Red Nun in both Chatham and Dennis Port, and both are local favorites for burgers. The good news is that they have an array of different vegan burger options and great salads. Their famous Buddha Bowl is a crowd favorite—nutty quinoa, roasted veggies, and beans topped with homemade tahini dressing.
Local Scoop and The Ice Cream Café
No trip to Cape Cod would be complete without ice cream. Orleans is lucky to have two choices for vegan ice cream. The Local Scoop has hard and soft-serve vegan ice cream options with a large selection of toppings from which to choose. The vegan ice cream at Ice Cream Café is so delicious that it is a popular choice among non-vegans. Both shops make their own ice cream and rotate the flavors frequently.
J Bar
Main Street in Harwich Port has become a vibrant destination for locals and tourists. J Bar is a quick-serve option for smoothies, healthy vegan fare, salads, sandwiches & coffee drinks. Get your order to go and enjoy a casual stroll down the street or to the beach.
Apt Cape Cod
Brewster’s Apt Cape Cod is another farm-to-table gem with a host of vegan options for breakfast and brunch. Even the chef’s tasting menu at dinner has a vegan option.
Cuvée
Cuvée at the Chatham Inn (not to be confused with the Chatham Bars Inn right down the road) is perhaps the Cape’s quintessential fine dining experience. The 4-course menu options and 7-Course Tasting Menu are a modern, globally inspired, and locally acquired representation of Cape Cod cuisine. The chef is happy to plan an entirely vegan menu upon request.
